Actress Lizzie Cree (Olivia Cooke) is accused of murdering her husband John. The death sentence seems to be most likely until Detective Inspector John Kildare (Bill Nighy) takes over the case of the “Limehouse Golem” – a mysterious serial killer who butchers its victims into unrecognizable states. But the golem always leaves a message: A signature written in blood!
Kildare is determined to catch the killer. But solving the mystery is harder than expected and all possible leads result in dead ends. Kildare finds help from the eccentric artist Dan Leno (Douglas Booth) who has been known for taking Lizzie under his wings. Kildare is sure of Lizzie’s innocence partaking in all this and once he finds the diary of the golem he seems to be so much closer to solving the mystery killer series than ever before.
Director Juan Carlos Medina succeeds in creating a vivid, dark and consistent film. THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM encourages viewers to solve the case of the mysterious murder series alongside Detective Inspector Kildare.
