Sylvester Stallone reprises his legendary role as Vietnam veteran John Rambo in the fifth installment of the hugely popular action franchise that spans four decades. Previous films in the series include Rambo: First Blood (1982), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), Rambo III (1988), and Rambo (2008).
When his house-keeper’s daughter is kidnapped, Rambo crosses the U.S.-Mexican border to bring her home but finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most ruthless cartels.
Starring alongside Stallone in Rambo: Last Blood is Paz Vega (I’m So Excited, All Roads Lead to Rome), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Resident Evil: Afterlife, Life Itself), Adriana Barraza (Thor, Babel), Oscar Jaenada (Luis Miguel, Snatched), Yvette Monreal (Faking It) and Joaquin Cosio (El Narco, The Lone Ranger).
Adrian Grunberg (How I Spent My Summer Vacation) directs the high-octane action adventure. Based on characters created by David Morrell and a story by Sylvester Stallone, the screenplay is written by Matt Cirulnick (Absentia, South Beach) and Stallone.
Rambo: Last Blood is being produced by Kevin King Templeton and Les Weldon. Executive producers are Avi Lerner, Trevor Short and Boaz Davidson.
The creative team includes production designer Franco Carbone, who has worked on many of Stallone’s movies including Rocky Balboa, Rambo, The Expendables, Creed II, costume designer Cristina Sopena (Allied, Zoolander 2), and cinematographer Brendan Galvin (Solace, Self/Less).
