DETROIT

Concorde Filmverleih

November 23, 2017

She is one of the most visionary and intelligent thriller and action directors of our age. Her films are so close to the events that it takes the spectator’s breath away: Kathryn Bigelow tells stories that move, shock and give food for thought – and, above all, is gripping in every respect. While she sounded out our current political situation with her last two films „The Hurt Locker“ (incl. six Oscars© for „Best Film“ and „Best Direction“) and „Zero Dark Thirty“ (five Oscar© nominations), DETROIT now sees her venturing into historical territory which may be several decades ago, yet reveals alarming parallels with our present-day.  The screenplay for this vivid thriller was written again by Mark Boal (Oscar© for „The Hurt Locker“) whose suspenseful narrative style lets the audience experience the unfolding events at first hand. The leads feature John Boyega („Star Wars: The Force Awakens“), Anthony Mackie („The Hurt Locker“), Will Poulter („The Revenant“), Algee Smith („Army Wives“), Samira Wiley („Orange is the New Black“), Jack Reynor („Macbeth”), Hannah Murray („Game of Thrones – A Song of Ice and Fire“), Tyler James Williams („The Walking Dead“), Jason Mitchell („Kong: Skull Island“) and John Krasinski („Promised Land“).
