17th century France: Landscaper Sabine De Barra (Kate Winslet) is chosen by the king’s maître landscaper André Le Nôtre (Matthias Schoenaerts) to build a new garden. King Luis XIV (Alan Rickman) wishes to give his Versailles palace a park of never seen brilliance. While Sabine is drawn deeper into the court’s schemes the feelings for her married boss André grow stronger.
